Two-color mold is a distinctive product in the mold industry. Since its launch, it has attracted widespread attention and opened up a new development direction for mold manufacturing.
A two-color mold consists of two sets of mold cavities. Half of the mold is mounted on the fixed plate of the injection molding machine, and the other half is installed on the rotary plate. The core (male mold) of the two mold sets is identical, while the first cavity and the second cavity have different structures.
After the first plastic material is injected, the mold opens. The core with the first-shot semi-finished product rotates 180 degrees to the station for the second material injection. The second injection is then carried out to produce the finished two-color part.
In this cycle, one first-shot semi-finished product and one complete two-color finished part are produced in each molding cycle.
